Every February, we take a deep breath and exhale to celebrate the completion of Estate Tales, our annual magazine–six months in the making. We think our eighth volume of Estate Tales, which debuts this week in our Jordan Estate Rewards members’ e-newsletter, is our best effort to date.

The above video gives a glimpse into the making of the 2013 Estate Tales, capturing transitions from photo set to final photograph to a double-page spread in the magazine. The entire creative process begins in the summer with brainstorming story ideas, then doing photo shoots with Matt Armendariz, and writing and editing stories before starting layout with our designer. It’s not uncommon to spend another month going through rounds of design tweaks and copy edits; this 30-plus-page magazine replaces the typical brochure guests can take when touring wineries, and we take our publishing projects as seriously as our hospitality.
This edition celebrates the myriad passions that lovers of great food, wine and hospitality share, as well as the hobbies that help balance the wine country lifestyle. Highlights include a harvest report from our winemaker, a behind-the-scenes look at a Jordan Estate Rewards member luncheon, new recipes from our chef, a sneak peek at our new vintages releasing this spring, reflections on recently opened library vintages of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon and more. The current issue and archives back to the inaugural edition are available for viewing on our website. Print copies are available to all guests who visit us in beautiful Healdsburg, California. We hope to see you in wine country soon.
