More than 200 guests donned their favorite party hats, dresses and spring suits at A Kentucky Classic Spring at Jordan, our new release party held on Saturday, May 19. For this year’s event, I decided to transform the winery lawns and terrace into a Kentucky Derby-inspired affair, replete with a quarter horse and jockey, live music from the Bluegrass Region and cuisine inspired by the South. John Jordan, who had just returned from the Kentucky Derby where he did not get the hint as a winery owner that he should bet on a horse named “I’ll Have Another,” joined Jordan Estate Rewards members to truly embrace the fun and fashion of the party theme. Our Guest Services associates, winemakers and our cellar master poured the new Jordan 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2010 Chardonnay for guests, as well as vintages from our library, while our chefs cooked delicacies at Jordan’s wood-fired oven on the terrace. The event was hosted amid a two-month string of Jordan’s 40th anniversary celebration events across the country.
Congratulations to our “dining room derby” raffle winners at the event:
Thank you to everyone who attended–and a special thanks to our local purveyors who sampled their wares at the farmers market, including Hog Island Oyster Company, Costeaux Bakery and Tsar Nicoulai caviar. Dates for the 2013 Spring at Jordan will be posted on our website this winter.
