A glimpse into our past, the 2005 Jordan Russian River Valley Chardonnay was crafted in a more traditional California style with more creaminess, butter and toasty oak.
The 2005 growing season started in March and ended in late October, but it was the month of June that defined this vintage. We received an unusual six inches of rain in June, nearly doubling the size of our Chardonnay clusters. We harvested by hand at night, then pressed the grapes hours later in our Willmes press before fermentation in French oak barrels.
The 2005 Jordan Chardonnay's aromas and flavors include citrus and mineral notes, with crisp green apple, kiwi, honey and lightly toasted oak. A creamy mid-palate, from extended sur lie aging, complements the bright acidity. Drink now.
