Though there are only a few bottles of 1988 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon left in our cellar, it remains an intriguing wine.

1988 was another hot year in Alexander Valley. The grapevines struggled, and fruit matured late, but by waiting for the cherry, blackberry, and cassis flavors to reach their peak, we also saw optimum tannin levels in the grapes.

Tasting Notes

The tannins in the 1988 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon have faded, but caramel, cherry, cedar and vanilla still appear on the nose. The 750mL is past its prime. For larger formats, drink now.
