The 1982 vintage was one of the longest and coolest growing seasons experienced for Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Another challenging year for weather, with a very wet winter and spring. Cool weather continued throughout the year, so precision farming was required in the vineyards to keep the fruit dry and maturing on time. With a higher percentage of Merlot than from past years, the wine was already soft and easy to enjoy upon release.
Light cranberry and cherry aromas and flavors. Past its prime, 1982 Jordan is now lean, herbal and lightly floral, quickly fading after a moment of freshness on the nose. Larger formats should be enjoyed now.

Eighteen days for primary fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by four weeks in large oak tanks for malolactic fermentation
11 months in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels with additional aging in large oak tanks before nearly two years of bottle age
84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot
