The 1982 vintage was one of the longest and coolest growing seasons experienced for Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Another challenging year for weather, with a very wet winter and spring. Cool weather continued throughout the year, so precision farming was required in the vineyards to keep the fruit dry and maturing on time. With a higher percentage of Merlot than from past years, the wine was already soft and easy to enjoy upon release.

Tasting Notes

Light cranberry and cherry aromas and flavors. Past its prime, 1982 Jordan is now lean, herbal and lightly floral with rose petals, dried herbs, dried cranberries and blackberries, quickly fading after a moment of freshness on the nose. Although this wine has passed its optimum date for consumption, it still shows beautifully in its age.
