Our first estate vintage, 1978 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon offers a taste of history and the charms of an old, classic Bordeaux style wine.
Even though 1978 was a classic year, 42 years is a long time for red wine to live. As expected, the 1978 Jordan is beyond peak maturity. The wine displays shy notes of spice, cigar box and cedar with hints of cherry, black tea leaves and dried dill. The 750mL and 1.5L are past prime, but if you have a 3L or 6L, drink now. The 6L displays great structure with a nicely balanced palate.Download Tasting Notes
