Since the 1990s, Jordan Winery has strived to craft the best, extra virgin olive oil in Sonoma County, California, that honors the extra virgin olive oil making traditions of Italy and Spain.
An exceptional vintage, 2019 delivered quality and quantity to Sonoma County olive growers after the miniscule 2018 harvest. The 2019 Jordan Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil has a deep, golden hue and rich texture. Pretty aromas of lemongrass, butter and walnuts lead to a plush palate with notes of cut grass and arugula. The finish is smooth with lingering hints of white pepper.
During harvest, fruit was either handpicked in the brucatura tradition or shaken into special nets. Olives were milled within 12-18 hours of harvest, and the oil was never filtered or heated during the milling process. Our chef, winemaker and ranch manager tasted all four olive oils in December to determine the best blend. The master blend of 38% Arbequina, 36% Leccino, 16% Frantoio and 10% Pendolino was bottled by our staff in late May.
