This March, Jordan Winery invites guests to an intimate, one-night-only dinner inside the Jordan Winery Chateau, bringing together Executive Chef Jesse Mallgren and Chef Zach Engel for their first collaboration dinner rooted in shared history and a mutual love of ingredient-driven cooking.
Chef Mallgren and Chef Engel first worked together early in their careers at the Madrona Manor in Healdsburg, where a shared appreciation for seasonal, expressive cuisine was established. Years later, they reunite in wine country for a full-circle evening that reflects the evolution of both chefs, informed by personal heritage, global influences and a deep respect for the land and those who cultivate it.
The evening begins with a welcome reception featuring sparkling pours of the Jordan Cuvée by Champagne AR Lenoble and seasonal canapés, followed by a seated, five-course dinner served communally in Jordan’s grand dining room. The menu blends Jesse’s garden-driven California sensibility with Zach’s modern Middle Eastern influences, shaped by his upbringing in a Jewish household, time spent traveling in Israel and a career that continues to earn national recognition, including a recent semifinalist nod for Outstanding Chef in the 2026 James Beard Awards.
Each dish highlights seasonal ingredients sourced from Jordan’s garden and local farms, thoughtfully paired with select vintages of Jordan Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, and finishing with dessert alongside the new Jordan Sauternes by Château Guiraud.
