As Executive Chef at Jordan Winery, Jesse Mallgren elevates the Jordan culinary and hospitality experience to new heights, leveraging his impressive 25 years of experience, including a 13-year tenure as the Michelin Star-winning Executive Chef of Healdsburg’s acclaimed Madrona Manor (now The Madrona Hotel).

Chef Mallgren showcases the bounty of Jordan’s sprawling 1,200-acre estate in his culinary offerings—from foraging local ingredients, to harvesting from the onsite garden and procuring fresh honey from the winery’s own apiaries. At the helm, Mallgren also leads a series of one-of-a-kind, culinary-driven experiences for Jordan Estate Rewards members and daily visitors. Through his culinary creations, Chef Mallgren establishes connections with the estate’s rich history, harmonizing seasonal cuisine with Jordan’s famed Bordeaux-style cabernet sauvignon and Burgundy-style chardonnay wines. In addition to these special events, Chef Mallgren closely collaborates with Jordan’s hospitality team to elevate all of the winery’s onsite experiences–from daily breakfast in the Chateau Suites to harvest lunches, experiential tours and tastings and everything in-between.

Rooted in the idyllic Wine Country surroundings brimming with community, culture and remarkable culinary talent, Mallgren draws inspiration from his childhood, where his mother’s homemade dishes teeming with global and exotic flavors, ignited his passion for the culinary arts.  Early in his career, Chef Mallgren was fortunate to learn from the mentorship of esteemed chefs like Gary Danko and Jeremiah Tower who imparted invaluable knowledge and confidence in the kitchen. Prior to joining Jordan, Chef Mallgren held the position of chef de cuisine at Aspen’s Syzygy before becoming Executive Chef at Madrona Manor in 1999.

Chef Mallgren is eager to bring decades of culinary expertise and a passion for farm-forward cuisine to each dish, crafting fresh, distinguished, fine dining experiences for guests that leave a lasting impression long after their meal has concluded.
