Tasting Notes

A vintage that needed the extra bottle age to find its groove. The 2004 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon offers enticing aromas of herbs and spices to complement its lovely red fruit flavors, from white cherry and cranberry to raspberry and strawberry. Silky-smooth tannins with an attractive vanilla character add weight to the mid-palate and length to its spice-laced finish. Due to its smooth, silky palate and soft tannins, the 2004 Jordan can pair with an array of foods, especially those with grill flavors to complement the wine’s spice and vanillin oak. This wine can be enjoyed now at its peak, or it will continue to reward collectors through 2022 in 750mL bottles, 2030 in 1.5L magnums, as well as 3L through 2035 and 6L through 2041.

  • Fermentation: Four days of extended skin contact and 16 days of primary fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by four weeks in large upright oak tanks for malolactic fermentation

  • Aging: The wine was aged in 62% French and 38% American oak barrels (32% new oak: 56% French and 44% American) for 12 months. It was then bottled and held for another 18 months prior to release.
