This six-bottle wood box features three distinct vintages, offering an intriguing comparison of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignons from dramatically different growing seasons.
The 2009 vintage was a dream come true for Winemaker Rob Davis, combining an excellent growing season with our new direction of sourcing grapes from prime vineyard sites in eastern Alexander Valley. After nearly eight years of aging, the 2009 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon shows an elegance of fruit expression, lively acidity and tannin. Flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate and leather are supported by oak integrated with hints of baking spice and vanilla. Still showing its round youthfulness, enjoy the 750mL through 2024. Decant for 30 minutes prior to serving to further enhance aromas and flavors.
The 2011 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a true validation of being blessed by incredibly gifted growers whose vineyards provided extraordinary fruit in what was, for many other vintners, a difficult year. This 2011 is round, soft and refined with elegant flavors of red currant, freshly cut herbs, vanilla bean and allspice. Predominantly French oak aging lends structure to the mid-palate with soft tannins and an inviting mouthfeel, balanced by a backbone of clean acidity. This wine’s enduring finish makes it perfectly suited to enjoy today or cellar worthy through 2025 in 750mL. Decant for 30 minutes prior to serving to further enhance aromas and flavors.
The 2013 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon exemplifies our move to a higher percentage of French oak to complement the natural grape tannin found in the collection of grower vineyards that have been the soul of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon since 2006. What began as one of the warmest, driest and earliest growing seasons on record, 2013 had moderate weather throughout summer, allowing the grapes to develop very intense, concentrated flavors with lots of structure. More Pauillac in style compared to the 2012 vintage, which was more reminiscent of Saint-Julien, 2013 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon is our richest, most complex Jordan upon release. The palate is plush and seductive, exuding blackberries and cassis interwoven seamlessly with fine tannins from new French oak barrels. Its masculine structure is harnessed by a beautiful balance of acidity and dark fruits with a long, cassis-laced finish. A highly collectible vintage to be enjoyed now or cellared through 2032. Decant for 45 to 60 minutes to further elevate aromas and flavors.
The set includes two 750mL bottles of each wine, packaged in a wood box.
A Jordan notecard will be included on all orders with gift notes entered.
