Selected to be poured side-by-side in Jordan Library Tastings this year, these very different vintages offer an intriguing comparison of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon's fruit flavors and tannin structure from wines with variations in growing seasons, barrel aging choices and bottle age.
2008 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon has evolved into a soft, elegant red wine that gained weight and complexity with age. After a decade, the wine’s elegant aromas of black cherries, cassis and vanilla now open to a soft, silky palate of rich red plum and baked blackberry, subtle spices and silky tannins. Enjoy now without decanting or cellar through 2023.
One of the finest vintages since Jordan’s founding, the 2013 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon continued our progression toward all French oak barrel aging to complement the natural grape tannin found in the collection of grower vineyards that have been the soul of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon since 2006. Intense aromas of cassis, black currants, blackberries and ripe cherries open to a rich, seductive palate, with concentrated flavors of blackberries and cassis interwoven seamlessly with fine tannins from new French oak barrels. Its masculine structure is harnessed by a beautiful balance of acidity and dark fruits with a long, cassis-laced finish. A highly collectible vintage to be enjoyed now or cellared through 2032. Decant for 45 to 60 minutes to elevate aromas and flavors.
The set includes one 750mL bottle of each wine, packaged in a wood box.
A Jordan notecard will be included on all orders with gift notes entered.
