This string of vintages allows wine lovers to experience Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon’s enduring elegance and consistency, while enjoying the subtle nuances Mother Nature imparts on each vintage. All are silky wines that are ready to enjoy now or can be cellared for a decade plus.
Drinking beautifully now after more than a decade in our cellars, the 2002 Jordan a ringer for Left Bank Bordeaux with a classic perfume of red cherries and violets, backed by seamlessly smooth tannins and a silky palate.
Yet to reveal its age, the 2003 Jordan—thanks to warm summer weather and a short harvest season—is a beguiling, more full-bodied Jordan filled with black fruits and fine tannins that evolve endlessly in the glass.
The warm spring and early harvest of 2004 produced a feminine wine with small berries, and now the 2004 Jordan has hit its stride, showing off cherry, plum and cassis notes laced with a thread of spicy American oak.
Abundant and uniform, the 2005 vintage helped us craft a complex, old-world Cabernet Sauvignon with concentrated flavors of blackberry, blueberry and dried herbs with a hint of vanilla from oak aging.
The first vintage under John Jordan’s direction, 2006 was a growing season without extremes, yielding a classic vintage that perfectly blends Old World and New World styles. Smaller berries resulted in an elegant blend of black cherry and blackberry flavors with bright acidity and fine tannins—the hallmarks of longevity.
The exceptional growing season in Alexander Valley made 2007 a winemaker's dream vintage, and a smaller crop led to more concentrated flavors in the clusters. After seven years in bottle, the 2007 Jordan exudes beautiful, dense, blackberry aromas that echo through a deliciously silky palate—all layered with hints of vanilla and cedar from the fine tannins.
Overall, this six-year vertical offers a beautiful collection of balanced wines that have both cellaring potential and immediate drinkability.
