Estate Experience Host

SUMMARY
Jordan Vineyard and Winery, a well-established winery in the Alexander Valley, is seeking a full-time employee to join the guest services team as an Estate Experience Host. Applicants must be energetic, outgoing and have a passion for the wine industry. We are looking for a polished professional that is comfortable conducting tours and tastings for large and small groups, as well as occasionally assisting wine service needs for lunches, dinners and other events at the winery.

As a member of our Guest Services team, you must be able to properly convey our message to our visitors in an enjoyable, informative and professional manner. We offer one of the premier guest experiences in California, and expect all applicants to have the ability to graciously present our wines and history. We are looking for someone that has an extroverted personality, knowledge of the wine industry, and a polished and professional demeanor. Our staff handles many other BOH and administrative duties in addition to hosting our guests. Cooperation and a willingness to work together as a team is an absolute must. The position is based in Healdsburg, reporting directly to the Guest Services Manager.

Open availability, including weekends and holidays would be required.

Applicants must be over the age of 21 and be able to repeatedly lift 50 lb. boxes.

Compensation: $23/hour + commission and other

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Warmly greet and welcome all visitors and be a brand ambassador
  • Offer outstanding customer service to each guest
  • Host tours, tastings, lunches and private experiences as assigned
  • Setup and breakdown of all tours and tastings and private experiences
  • Be able to connect with guests and explain our unique winery loyalty program, Jordan Estate Rewards in person and by phone
  • Process orders and reservations at POS, and phone via our in-house operating system Commerce7
  • Answer phones as needed
  • Assist our reservations and concierge team as necessary
  • Ensure stocking of all wine and non-wine items including packaging supplies Ensure retail lobby is kept orderly and clean of debris
  • Create folios, print material, and assemble as necessary
  • Participate in wine education, trainings, and meetings as necessary
  • Perform other duties as needed/directed by management
  • Complete thank you cards for all guests in a timely fashion

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to safety regulations and policies; report any potential safety issues to supervisor

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
We are looking for an individual that is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and must be able to take point-of-sale orders as well as phone orders using our in-house software

Previous winery, hotel, or restaurant experience is preferred

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with winemaking and viticulture
  • Ability to read and understand procedures and government regulations that apply
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
Wine education certificate preferred such as Court of Master Sommeliers Certificate, Wine Spirit Education Trust or equivalent education from another known organization.
