A warm, relatively arid growing season in the Alexander Valley, 1987 produced grapes with generous varietal fruit aromas and depths of flavor typifying the winery's mature estate vineyards. These natural attributes of the 1987 vintage are finely balanced in the elegant style distinctive of Jordan wines. Subtle earthy scents and sweet hints of fresh herbs heighten the cassis and cherry fruit aromas of Jordan's 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon. Soft and round in structure, this wine has lovely fruit flavors enhanced by two years of aging in small oak cooperage. The Jordan winemaking tradition requires two years of bottle aging before releasing a vintage to allow greater development of the wine. The 1987 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon is inviting and enjoyable today. The wine's exquisite balance will assure improvement for years to come.
